Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, often shortened to just Salt Lake, is the most populous city in all of Utah and the state’s capitol. Nestled against the Wasatch Mountains, Salt Lake City is Utah’s flourishing center for business, culture, and outdoor adventure. With all this city has to offer, it’s no surprise that everyone, from business professionals to artists to outdoorsmen and women, calls this city home.
The city of Taylorsville was officially incorporated on July 1, 1996. After decades of growth, this city still has its sights set towards the future. With flourishing business and residential communities throughout the city, Taylorsville has earned a reputation for its quality of life. Offering a myriad of cultural and recreational activities in and nearby the city, residents and visitors will always find a way to stay entertained.
Kearns is a moderately-sized township in Salt Lake County, Utah, with a population of over 35,000. Once known as Camp Kearns during WWII, it was partially a basic training facility for replacement troops headed for the war against Japan. Today, Kearns has seen a lot of growth and modernization. The area is also home to the Utah Olympic Oval, which was the venue for long-track speed skating events in the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Murray is a city situated in the heart of Salt Lake Valley. Named after the territorial governor, Eli Murray, it’s Utah’s 14th largest city. Thousands of people visit the Murray City Park every year to organize sporting events and enjoy the beautiful wooded areas. Murray is also home to the Intermountain Medical Center, a medical campus that is also the largest employer in the city. Murray was even designated a Tree City USA in 1977.
West Jordan is a city in Salt Lake County. The city was named after the nearby Jordan River. West Jordan begins on the river’s western bank and ends at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains, the location of Kennecott Copper Mine. The city is also home to the South Valley Regional Airport, which serves as both general aviation services and a base for the 211th Aviation Regiment of the Utah Army National Guard.
South Jordan is located roughly 18 miles south of Salt Lake City and is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The city contains about 3.5 miles of the Jordan River Parkway that features fishing ponds, hiking trails, and parks. The Salt Lake County fair grounds and equestrian park, Oquirrh Lake, and 27 various parks are all a part of this diverse city of over 70,000 people.
